The unwritten rules that keep social tennis fun — from calls to changeovers.
Court Etiquette
Calls
- Call the ball on your side of the court.
- If you are not sure, it is in.
- Announce the score before every point.
Between points
- Walk, don't sprint. Give your opponent time to reset.
- Return balls with one bounce, hit to the server's hand.
Changeovers
- 90 seconds. Sit down, hydrate, don't chat across the net.
Noise & sportsmanship
- No coaching from the sidelines in matches.
- Wait for the next changeover to cross behind a court.
- Compliment good shots. Never celebrate opponent errors.
